Some weedy-eyed redditors found out that HP apparently has a lot of documentation available publicly that lists a “GTX 1180” graphics card from NVIDIA. This is not the first time I am hearing of this card but considering this is *still* circumstantial evidence, this post has been tagged as a rumor. In other words, please use copious amounts of salt while perusing this article. I will say right off the bat that it’s possible that this is an OEM-only product or even a plain ol’ typo (although I would personally term that increasingly unlikely considering the volume of documentation around this).
https://www.anandtech.com/show/13979/arctic-preps-freezer-50-tr-a-0-db-cooler-for-amds-threadripper At an event for gamers in Leipzig, Germany, Arctic demonstrated a prototype of one the industry’s first partially-passive cooling systems for AMD’s Threadripper processors. The Freezer 50 TR is a sizable heatsink-fan cooler that is specifically designed to be able to cool a Threadripper processor passively under low loads, allowing its fans to be turned off to minimize noise. And while it looks extremely big and will be an interesting challenge in fit in most modern PC cases, having cooler that can run noise-free under light loads certainly comes with its advantages. 試作品のためTDP他不明
Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co (NYSE:TSM 39 1.40%) confirmed Friday that a manufacturing defect caused the Taiwanese foundry to scrap tens of thousands of wafers at their 12nm/16nm Fab 14 facility. TSMC investigated the matter and found that a ‘photoresist’ layer used an improperly treated compound that contained foreign polymers.
Upwards of $550 million dollars according to the world’s largest independent foundry company. Several companies have been cited as affected, perhaps most importantly graphics chip-maker NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA 158.55 1.22%).
pentiumGOLD 4GHZ ROLLOUT Intel rolled out its first Pentium-branded processor with 4.00 GHz clock-speed, the Pentium Gold G5620 (retail SKU: BX80684G5620). The chip replaces the G5600 on top of the entry-level product stack. Based on the 14 nm "Coffee Lake" microarchitecture, it packs a 2-core/4-thread CPU clocked at 4.00 GHz without Turbo Boost. 256 KB of L2 cache per core and 4 MB of shared L3 cache are also offered.
